WORKFLOW ACTIONS

What you can configure.

Choose an action in the workflow builder, connect an account, and map its inputs. These actions are available in the catalog; your account access and a successful test determine whether they work for your setup.

Get dashboard

Read

Read a selected dashboard resource and its native JSON model.

Permissions and limits

Account permissions

  • dashboards:read

Operation limits

  • Uses the saved public HTTPS instance and reverse-proxy path. Namespace and credentials stay bound to the selected business connection. Local request and response budget: 256 KiB. Dashboard resource reads require Grafana 12 or newer; native legacy datasource APIs remain supported but are deprecated in Grafana 13.

Get data source

Read

Read the identity and plugin type of a selected data source.

Permissions and limits

Account permissions

  • datasources:read

Operation limits

  • Uses the saved public HTTPS instance and reverse-proxy path. Namespace and credentials stay bound to the selected business connection. Local request and response budget: 256 KiB. Dashboard resource reads require Grafana 12 or newer; native legacy datasource APIs remain supported but are deprecated in Grafana 13.

List dashboards

Read

Read one page of dashboards in the connection namespace.

Permissions and limits

Account permissions

  • dashboards:read

Operation limits

  • Uses the saved public HTTPS instance and reverse-proxy path. Namespace and credentials stay bound to the selected business connection. Local request and response budget: 256 KiB. Dashboard resource reads require Grafana 12 or newer; native legacy datasource APIs remain supported but are deprecated in Grafana 13.
  • Returns one page. Retain the same namespace and use metadata.continue for another page.

Pagination: cursor. Check the result for additional pages; a single action may not return every record.

List data sources

Read

Read data-source identities and plugin types without connection configuration or credentials.

Permissions and limits

Account permissions

  • datasources:read

Operation limits

  • Uses the saved public HTTPS instance and reverse-proxy path. Namespace and credentials stay bound to the selected business connection. Local request and response budget: 256 KiB. Dashboard resource reads require Grafana 12 or newer; native legacy datasource APIs remain supported but are deprecated in Grafana 13.
  • The native endpoint is unpaginated. More than 500 entries fail explicitly rather than being silently truncated. Private URLs, jsonData and secure configuration are excluded.

Query Prometheus production signals

Read

Read Prometheus metrics through a verified Grafana data source in a bounded absolute window.

Permissions and limits

Account permissions

  • datasources:read
  • datasources:query

Operation limits

  • Uses the saved public HTTPS instance and reverse-proxy path. Namespace and credentials stay bound to the selected business connection. Local request and response budget: 256 KiB. Dashboard resource reads require Grafana 12 or newer; native legacy datasource APIs remain supported but are deprecated in Grafana 13.
  • Only a data source whose fresh native type is exactly prometheus may be queried. Arbitrary plugin models, SQL, datasource URLs and server-side expressions are not accepted.
  • Local limits: one query (refId A), at most 24 hours, 100 frames, 20 columns per frame and 1000 values per column. Effective range interval is raised to respect the requested point budget; Grafana may align timestamps to its step.
  • Read results are projected to typed field names, labels and values. Empty frames are valid. Partial/error results, unexpected refIds, unsafe values and excessive results fail explicitly. Other production plugins remain outside this action.
SETUP

Start with a controlled test.

01Connect the intended account

Use the account and permissions required for your process. Review the connection check before configuring a workflow action.

02Review inputs and access

Select a listed operation and map its required inputs. Use test records and add a human approval before writes that need review.

03Confirm the result

Inspect step outputs and confirm the result in Grafana. A saved workflow is not a completed provider action.
