Data tables

Give your workflows shared records.

Keep lookup lists and operational records in your business. Edit them in a table, then read or update the same data from a workflow.

Product preview: workspace access opens at launch. Follow the launch.

Create a table

  1. Open Data tables. As a workspace owner or administrator, open Data tables and confirm the active business.
  2. Name the table and its columns.Choose a unique table name in that business. Column names use letters, numbers, and underscores, starting with a letter or underscore.
  3. Choose a type for each column.Use Text, Number, True or false, or Date. For example, a routing table could have a text team, a text queue_id, and a boolean active.
  4. Add a test record.Open the saved table and add a row. Click a cell to edit it. Values must fit the column type before they can be saved.

NodeHub supplies each row's id, createdAt, and updatedAt. These names are reserved for the system columns.

Find and move records

Use search to locate records, click a column heading to sort, or add filters that match all or any conditions. Filters support comparisons and empty-value checks, including on row IDs and dates.

  • Import a CSVUse the table's column names in the first row. Import adds up to 10,000 rows at a time, from a file or pasted cells up to 5 MB. Review the preview before importing. Duplicate or unknown headers and invalid values are rejected; empty cells and omitted columns become null.
  • Export the current selectionExport follows the current search, filters, and sort. An export includes every matching row, up to a table's maximum of 100,000. Narrow the filters to export less.

Import appends new rows. It does not match and update existing records. System IDs and timestamps are assigned on import and are not included in CSV exports.

Use a Data table step

Add a Data table step to your workflow and choose the table by name or ID. Choose Get rows, Insert rows, Update rows, an upsert that updates or inserts, or Delete rows. You can also continue a branch only if a matching row exists or no row matches.

For updates, upserts, deletes, and existence checks, add conditions that identify the intended rows. Map values to the table's columns, then run a controlled test. Open the table afterward to confirm any saved changes.

Follow the workflow quickstart

Keep changes predictable

Tables are shared by workflows in the same business. Before renaming or deleting a column or table, check the workflows that reference it and update their mappings. Deleting records changes the data available to later runs.
